**Position Overview**:
The Financial Reporting area of the WRHA’s Finance Division is responsible for transaction processing and financial reporting for the WRHA. This includes general ledger activities, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and internal/external reporting. This is done in co-ordination with the other areas in the Finance Division and involves the development, implementation and maintenance of appropriate plans, policies, systems and controls.

The Accounts Payable area is responsible for the timely and accurate payments to suppliers for goods and services acquired by WRHA and Shared Health operations, and for providing information about payables and payments for reporting purposes.

Under general supervision of the Manager, Financial Reporting, the incumbent is responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely payments of financial commitments made by authorized representatives of the WRHA and Shared Health and providing information for reporting about payables and payment activities by:

- Ensuring efficiency of work and quality of output.
- Performing various Accounts Payable duties and Special Projects.
- Directing and supervising staff, planning and scheduling work.
- System development, implementation, testing and maintenance.

**Experience**:
**Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)**:

- Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required. Intermediate standing in a recognized professional accounting program, a Business/Accounting Diploma from a recognized Business College, or an equivalent combination of education and experience as recognized by the WRHA.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with vendors and the Purchasing and Materials Management departments to ensure efficient and effective procurement and payment cycles.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with staff at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and willingness to assume additional responsibilities.
- Ability to plan, organize and schedule work for supervised staff in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions to meet deadlines.
