**POSITION: Recreation Therapy Assistant - Part-Time**

**SHIFTS/HOURS: Must be available for Days, Evenings and Weekends**

**RATE OF PAY**:Start Rate** **1295hrs** **2590hrs**

**$25.48 $25.82 $26.09**

**QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE**:

- Postsecondary diploma, degree or certificate in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, gerontology from an Ontario postsecondary institution or other related field from a community college, university or diploma, degree or certificate granted from another jurisdiction or equivalent experience is preferred
- Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) preferred
- Experience in Long Term Care would be an asset
- Experience using Point Click Care would be an asset
- Able to work effectively and efficiently and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment with mínimal supervision
- Strong written and verbal communication and diplomacy skills are require to manage a fast-paced work environment, and deal effectively and professionally with individuals across SJHCG (i.e. physicians, allied health, external providers, visitors and families)
- Demonstrate strong independent judgement and a high degree of interpersonal effectiveness to be able to deal with stakeholders across various levels internally and externally
- Able to manage efficiently in a multi-tasked environment and ensure deadlines are met by prioritizing work flow
- Demonstrated discretion and confidence dealing with highly sensitive matters
- Adaptable and flexible to changing workplace demands to meet organizations requirements
