Support the QC Lab Lead for a particular shift and/or lab function in planning, organizing, implementing and controlling the daily activities of the QC Colour laboratory to ascertain that raw materials, mass and finished goods of Estee Lauder products meet internal and external specifications. Responsible for overseeing lab testing processes with ability to troubleshoot instruments and issues. Conduct and document OOS investigations and investigation of rejects. Manage QC lab equipment, qualification protocols and reports, and administration. Participate in continuous improvement projects regionally to drive efficiencies in the lab. Flexible to support off-shift work when needed.
**KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
Management of QC Lab Testing for a shift or lab function (50%)
- Support the QC Lab Lead for a particular shift and/or lab function in planning, organizing, implementing, and controlling the daily activities of the QC laboratory to ascertain that both raw materials, mass and -finished goods meet internal and external specification. This includes management for lab workflow, sample analysis, sample retention, standards management, raw material qualification, TPM testing, inventory management and document management
- Ensure execution of data integrity checks / verifications per procedures
- Identify SOPs and support QC Lab Lead in work instruction updates or creating new based on lab trends and CAPAs.
- Review and update SOPs and work instructions and provide to QC Lab Lead for approval.
- Conduct investigations of OOS results, write investigation and deviation reports.
- Review and trending of OOS, CAPAs and deviations related to their QC lab function.
- Color matching of manufactured batches and finished good products.
- Assist in approving new and existing shades of product (colour, odour and appearance)
- Assist Technical Services with existing shades for filling and establish new standards
- Assist in approving finished goods
- Update and maintain colour standards
- Send updated standards to R&D and Q.A.
- Maintain library of physical standards
- Request standards from R&D, production or brand PD
- Follow-up with Products and R&D on colour approvals
- Communicate colour results to internal departments
- Assist in troubleshooting on line when there are color/texture/odor concerns
- Maintain Launch tracking database for color lab portion
- Review and disposition Third Party Manufacturers products
- Provide training to Technical Services employees
- Participate in test method development and transfer
Testing Data Review and Release - Data Reviewer role responsibilities (10%)
- Review of routine supporting test data and results, including sample preparation records. logbooks, calculations, and data sheets. Enter results in SAP/LIMS.
- Release of OTC mass, non-OTC mass, and Cosmetic FGs in SAP
Equipment Program (40%)
- Manage QC lab equipment budget, equipment purchases, installation and initiate change control as needed
- Development of lab equipment qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) protocols and reports
- Manage specific area’s equipment administration, including calibration, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting as needed
**Qualifications** JOB REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS**
**Education**:Minimum B.Sc. in sciences
**Experience**:Applicable work experience
**Additional Job Specifications**:
- 5 years laboratory experience, preferably in colour, microbiology, analytical chemistry or product evaluation laboratories in Quality Control for a global consumer goods or pharma company
- Experience in developing laboratory SOPs and revisions according to regulatory guidelines
- Effective oral and written communication skills and ability to appropriately communicate information to cross functional stakeholders and suppliers
- Strong knowledge of GMP, ISO and safety guidelines
- Solid knowledge of all laboratory equipment
- Strong problem solving skills
- Knowledge of statistical assessments of data
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Electronic QMS, and SAP systems is preferred
