BC Parks is responsible for the management of one of the largest protected area systems in North America spanning 14.4 million hectares of land encompassing 1033 provincial parks, recreation areas, conservancies and ecological reserves and ensuring their world-class conservation, outdoor recreation, and cultural heritage values are protected for generations to come. While the primary agency focus is protecting BC’s parks and protected areas, we are also responsible for delivering programs that promote positive, interactive, and educational visitor experiences, and developing and maintaining capital infrastructure. More than 24 million visitors come annually to enjoy over 10,700 vehicle accessible campsites, 2,000 back country sites, a trail system of over 12,500 kilometres, and our many day use facilities.

The Engagement, Education and Enhancements team is responsible for community and public engagement, volunteer management, park visitor education and interpretation, outreach and events, and the oversight of the Park Enhancement Fund.

The **Community Engagement Project Administrator** provides project management coordination for small, medium and large-scale projects throughout the project management life-cycle (i.e. initiation, planning, execution, control and close-out). The position coordinates the BC Parks volunteer program, outreach and education materials, and various other projects; this position also supports the administration of the Park Enhancement Fund.

**Job Requirements**:
**Education and Experience**:

- Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
- Experience providing project management support services.
- Experience providing assistance and customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience coordinating volunteers.
- Experience working in the parks sector.

**About this Position**:
