As an Operations Planning and Monitoring Work Experience Student, you will report to the Engineering Technologist II on the Operations Planning Engineering Technology Team. You will provide Geographic Information Systems (GIS) support through routing, mapping, analysis, asset queries and other related GIS tasks to support the Infrastructure Operations Section. Working within the Parks and Roads Services Branch, you will interface with various stakeholders in the different service programs across the Infrastructure Operations section to collaborate and deliver GIS-based services and support where it is required.
**As a part of the team, you will**:
- Provide support to operational business areas with GIS asset routing and asset inventory maintenance
- Produce routing deliverables for work planning and tracking service completion
- Produce various asset map deliverables for operational business areas
- Perform GIS asset queries of various City assets to support Infrastructure Operations, council reports and projects
- Liaise with Operational teams and external branch partners to update GIS asset databases
- Provide assistance with the development of new contract requirements scope and specifications
- Assist with procurements and contract coordination
- Other related duties as required to support
**Qualifications**:
- Current enrollment at a post-secondary institution, in a geographic information systems (GIS) co-op or equivalent work experience degree program
Experience conducting research and providing detailed analysis of information
- Experience with ArcGIS or similar software

**Conditions of Employment**:
- This position will be a combination of working from home and on-site working conditions.
- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license (or provincial equivalent) is an asset. May be required to arrange own transportation to be reimbursed in accordance with City of Edmonton policy and business auto insurance
**Additional Details**:
**Hours of Work**: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday
**Salary Range**:$21.545 - $25.135 (Hourly)
