The Employee and Legal Services Division within the City of Edmonton has an opportunity for an individual interested in having a ground level influence in supporting business strategies and operations of the branch and City’s operational risk management practices by conducting research, data analytics and performance management tools.

As a Work Experience Student for this branch, you will be part of a team that is working to analyze claims and insurance data to identify loss prevention opportunities, develop dashboards, modernize processes and support existing professional staff with technology transitions. You will have the opportunity to participate and learn within a hub of corporate activity, and see first-hand how a major multi-billion dollar corporation advances its initiatives.

**As a part of the team, you will**:

- Work across sections to gather comprehensive data regarding all aspects of service measurement
- Develop dashboards, support data governance and performance management Compile data and use analytical skills to generate comprehensive reports and presentations
- Work with operational units across the City to support root cause analysis and inform loss prevention measures
- Assist with conducting industry best practice research, identify and assess approaches in other municipalities to support analysis and benchmarking
- Develop guidelines, training manuals, performance measures, and perform quality control activities
- Support the preparation of documentation that supports business process analysis, redesign and implementation activities
- Support workshop planning, preparation, facilitation and documentation
- Undertake project work, under supervision, relating to knowledge management, project planning, environmental scanning or other related areas

**Qualifications**:

- Current enrollment at a post-secondary institution, in a business, computer sciences, or business technology management co-op or equivalent work experience degree program
- Experience with preparing and presenting technical briefs, reports and presentations

**Assets**
- Experience with performance measurement reporting tools, including terminology and approach

**Conditions of Employment**:

- This position will be a combination of working from home and on-site working conditions.
- Hire is dependent upon a Criminal Records Check satisfactory to the City of Edmonton

**Additional Details**:
**Hours of Work**: 33.75 hours per week, Monday - Friday

**Salary**:$22.799 - $26.599 (Hourly)
