**About Us**:
The Student Experience (SE) Portfolio inspires all learners to ignite extraordinary change in the world, and supports the whole learner’s growth through programs, services and experiences that foster well-being, build connections and develop skills.

**Responsibilities**:
The Manager, Special Projects will play a vital role in advancing a variety of initiatives and projects that support the priorities of the portfolio and provides advice on related matters to ensure Western’s brand and reputation is enhanced locally, nationally and internationally as it relates to Student Experience. The incumbent will play an important role in advancing the vision of Student Experience to foster a campus environment where more students are thriving more often.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**:
Minimum Required:

- Masters’ Degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs or other related field

**Experience**

Minimum Required:

- 5 years
- Experience developing, implementing, and coordinating program and service assessments in an academic environment

**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**:

- In-depth knowledge of research methodologies and data analysis
- Proven ability and natural inclination to develop relationships by interacting with people in a professional, respectful and diplomatic manner
- Project management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and perform well under pressure
- Ability to display a blend of diplomacy and persistency to achieve goals while working collaboratively
- Ability to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of programs, services and learning resources based on best practices
- Ability to collaborate across internal and external boundaries to meet common objectives, improve outcomes and support Western’s strategic plan
- Ability to effectively present information, and conduct training sessions and workshops
- Ability to understand client needs and expectations and provide excellent client service to directly and indirectly satisfy expectations
- A desire to grow and advance skills, which is demonstrated by attending conferences, workshops and other professional developmental opportunities to enhance performance
- Computer skills with the ability to creatively use and integrate technology to improve quality and effectiveness; intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to search within and outside the formal boundaries of the organization for innovative ways to improve programs and services
