To assist in the coordination of the Mississaugas of the Credit Life Long Learning programs to ensure they are delivered in an effective and efficient manner by:
Ensuring that all Childcare and Elementary School food provisions are high quality and appropriate for the operation of the MCFN Childcare Programs and to provide Cafeteria food service to Elementary Students.

**Detailed Responsibilities and Expected Results**:

- Prepare Written meals plans and recipes according to Canada’s Food Guide.
- Implement the daily breakfast program, hot lunch, afternoon snack and afterschool menus reflecting the nutritional needs of children from 3 months to 14 years of age.
- Managing inventory levels and procuring supplies within the MCFN Budget.
- Implementing procedures and managing all aspects of MCFN food service programs, training and coaching of the Food Service staff.
- Maintain high standards of cleaning, sanitizing and maintenance of all kitchen equipment and food service areas.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the food service industry
- Minimum 2 years’ in a management role with experience in menu costing, planning, food preparation and an understanding of budgets
- Knowledge of Canada’s Food Guide
- Familiar with regulations for food service in childcare settings, as well as cafeteria food service requirements
- Caring attitude toward children
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs., walking, reaching, bending and standing for long periods
- Ability to work cooperatively with other staff and management
- Proficient computer skills specifically for menu creation, online ordering and inventory management
- Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession; particularly in the area of child care and nutrition
- Skilled in recipe development of traditional dishes, Indigenous and international cuisines
- Current (within one year) Certificate in Safe Food Handler’s Course
- Must provide up-to-date immunization records or a letter stating exemption on the grounds of religion, conscience or medical recommendation
- Must have a current (within 12 months) satisfactory result from a Criminal Record Check, including a vulnerable sector check.
- Must provide a current Health Assessment signed by a Healthcare Practitioner
- Current Standard First Aid and Infant Child CPR Certificate Level C from a WSIB-recognized organization
- Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Culinary diploma is an asset
- Catering experience is an asset
- WHMIS Training is an asset
