**To assist in the administration routines and in the absence of the Supervisor, to assume supervisory responsibilities of the Maawdoo Maajaamin Child Care (MMCC) by**:
Supporting the Supervisor, who ensures that the child-care operations are consistent with the levels of standard equal to, if not surpassing, that of the provincial guidelines while promoting and implementing practices of Anishnabek heritage.

**To supervise the children in the capacity of Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) within all classrooms to cover staff for programming time and as deemed necessary by the Supervisor by**:
Working with existing programs to enhance all children’s physical, intellectual, emotional and social development.

Providing pedagogical leadership to staff and students in order to ensure the best quality early childhood education of all children in the programs.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Self-Identify as First Nations, Metis, or Inuit
- Strong oral/written communication skills
- Must hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education from an Ontario College of Applied Arts and Technology, OR from an approved post-secondary list of programs recognized by the College of Early Childhood Educators, OR a letter of recognition of equivalency issued by the Association of Early Childhood Educators of Ontario (AECEO)
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a licensed child care setting
- A good working knowledge of the CCEYA; the Early Childhood Educators Act; Canada Labour Code Part II; and the Child and Family Services Act
- A solid understanding of the managerial requirements of operating a licensed child care centre
- Solid background in computers with specific knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to work with the public
- Ability to multi-task and work productively in stressful situations
- Must be a member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
- Must have a current (within 6 months) satisfactory result from a Criminal Record Check including a vulnerable sector check
- Must provide up-to-date immunization records, or a letter stating exemption on grounds of religion, conscience or medical recommendation
- Must provide a current Health Assessment signed by a medical doctor
- Current First Aid/CPR Certificate must provide proof
- Business and office experience is an asset
- Designation of Certification by the Association of Early Childhood Educators of Ontario (AECEO) is an asset
- Member of Association of Early Childhood Educators of Ontario is an asset
