**Claims Consultant**

The Claims Consultant will be a key member of the National Insurance Operations group. Western is committed to building the strongest insurance company in Canada, and the focus of our National Insurance Operations is to ensure we provide best in class support to our customers and employees.

Your success stems from your ability to effectively manage all incidents and claims while providing mitigation recommendations on identified trends. You will be our advocate with all claims concerns and consult with our employees as required to better Westerns practices so that we can better achieve our business goals.

**Here is what a typical day looks like**
- Build and maintain impactful business relationships with Carriers
- Identify actual and potential exposures, includes reporting to our insurance providers and make recommendations for any Western procedural change requirements
- Advising and consulting with branch employees on the claims process as required
- Providing support to Western Financial Group with all claims concerns and advocating for branches and clients
- Manage financial accountability for Western’s self-insured retention of applicable policies
- Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle complex property, auto, casualty and liability claims
- Analyse loss runs on key carriers, providing reccomendations on opportunities for positive intervention
- Participate in developing and implementing a Claims Advocacy Program and a Catastrophe Claims Response and Management program
- Support and participate in the development and delivery of any claims training
- Provide detailed statistical updates to stakeholders

**The value you bring**
- 8-10 years of claims experience within the Insurance industry
- CIP designation or equivalent
- Minimum Level 1 General License preferred
- Proven ability to successfully negotiate through conflict and difficult conversations
- Involvement in industry related associations an asset
- Professional communication etiquette, both written and verbal

Hours: Full-Time 37.5 hours/week
