Inventory/warehouse Supervisor Position

North Vancouver, Canada Johnstone's Barbecues and Parts Full time

Ensure seasonal staff is following your lead by example doing the following tasks daily:
**Warehouse tasks**
- Read work orders to assemble Barbecues by hand or by using small hand operated equipment
- Build barbecues and other appliances for delivery, test fire and wrap for storage until delivery
- Identify units that fail tests or tolerance levels and repair as necessary
- Maintain neat and orderly work areas and comply with all safety rules
- Provide first class customer service when interacting with public
- As needed be the second delivery team member on Barbecue deliveries to customers home’s
- Other duties as assigned

**Inventory tasks**
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse
- Ship items as required, including contacting freight companies and completing appropriate forms
- Receive shipments and ensure integrity of the inventory on shipments
- Reporting and shipment discrepancies to purchasing department
- Assist retail staff in carrying and loading heavy product for customers
- Organize, restock and maintain inventory, transfer from locations as needed
- Create labels and barcodes for inventory arriving on shipment
- Setting up displays on retail floor
- Keeping a clean and presentable showroom

**Showroom tasks**
- ring through basic purchases
- greet customers as you see them
- assist sales team as needed

**Maintenance tasks**
- Keep washrooms, staffroom and parking lot clean and tidy
- Ensure garbage’s and cardboard are taken out daily
- Ensure all printed invoice copies are shredded
- Snow removal in winter
- keeping storefront glass windows clean
- Keeping floors and products in showroom dust free and neat
- Emptying paper shredders frequently

**Supervisory work**:

- Mandatory weekends
- Interviewing and hiring builders and delivery team for the Barbecue season
- Creating a fluid team with Seasonal staff
- Training the seasonal team on Johnstone’s policy and work ethics
- Ensure at all times that company standards are met
- Oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, organizing, and distribution
- Develop and implement warehouse policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient operations
- Ensure accurate inventory management through regular cycle counts and location transfers
- Track tools and ensure that tools are not lost or broken
- Assist delivery crews to efficiently load vehicles with appropriate tools each morning and assist in

unloading end of day
- Notify Management when inventory ordering is needed
- Assist in process improvements
- Resolve problems that arise, such as customer complaints and supply shortages
- Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising and personnel matters
- Attend meetings as required

**Salary**: $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- North Vancouver, BC V7P 2R4: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
