**COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR - Based in Saskatchewan**

This full-time position will be responsible for the general marketing of SaskMusic's programs and services, managing the SaskMusic brand and connections across social media and other marketing avenues, monitoring and collecting data on Saskatchewan music news and developments, and various other communications duties. Reporting to and collaborating with the Executive Director, the Communications Coordinator will be responsible for providing strategic communications advice and support to the organization, and will also assist in the planning and delivery of our varied programs and services.
- Be able to create and implement communications policies, practices, procedures, and plans that support the overall strategic direction of the organization and take into account current marketing trends and best practices;
- Manage the organization's reputation and brand;
- Assist in the continued development of our crisis communications plan, Code of Conduct, and other policies;
- Assist in strengthening media, government, and community relations;
- Lead/coordinate audio/visual captures of our events;
- Manage our website and social media content across various platforms;
- Coordinate meetings and presentations;
- Write, or work with writers, to develop new educational content for our websites;
- Assist in marketing individual projects and events as well as the association as a whole;
- Be able to create impactful graphics for use in social media, promotional goods, print ads and more;
- Create/layout publications including annual reports and funding reports;
- Display a high degree of accuracy and professionalism as a visible representative of our organization;
- Have an affinity for arts and culture and/or community development;
- Provide support for reception and general inquiries, including membership communications;
- Assist in the planning and production of SaskMusic events and programs, including workshops, showcase events, career fairs, our awards show, and providing support services to artists and the music industry;
- Provide event support such as venue setup, registering attendees, staffing information booths, etc. at Sask-based events.

**The successful applicant will have**:

- Bachelors' degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or journalism; or three years' experience working in similar fields (or a relevant combination of education and experience).
- Experience utilizing a full range of communication methods including e-newsletters, websites, social media, print publications, promotional items and press releases.
- Expert written and verbal communication skills including excellent proficiency in preparing materials that are clear, accurate and concise.
- The ability to assess and report on the effectiveness of communication strategies.
- Excellent personal and professional judgement in the provision of all communication activities.
- The ability to think and act quickly, creatively and strategically.
- Competency in Microsoft Office and various social media platforms.
- Experience with photo editing and graphic design software, preferably Photoshop, InDesign, and/or similar.
- A friendly, enthusiastic, and positive attitude.
- Basic financial knowledge, with the ability to manage and report on the marketing budget;
- Excellent time management skills, with an ability to manage shifting priorities, and self-manage your work across a variety of projects.
- Amazing attention to detail.
- The desire to work co-operatively within a small team environment and contribute your ideas.
- The confidence to lead, speak, and represent us at events, and in social media content.
- The desire to always keep learning, whether about marketing, the music industry, or our members.

This position is full-time based on 37.5 hours/week, and will require occasional evening and weekend work in flow with our programming schedule. The starting salary range is $45,000-$55,000 depending on experience, and following a probationary period we offer health benefits, a company pension, and 3 weeks of paid annual vacation.

We represent, promote and develop the artists and music industry of Saskatchewan, offering one-on-one guidance, workshops, marketing and export assistance, career development opportunities, peer sessions, artist/services directory, and much more. From songwriters and freelance musicians to studios, we work with artists and industry members from across our province, in a wide range of genres and skill levels. We also provide information and resources to the general public and the music industry.
