Agile Lead

**What is the opportunity?**

In this complex environment that supports the RBC enterprise, it is imperative to bring forward strong leadership, communication, relationship-building, and coaching skills.

This role leverages Agile, Scaled Agile, Kanban, and traditional project management practices to support the delivery of Tech Infrastructure initiatives. This role will shape the working environment enabling and exemplifying great collaboration and breaking down silos. Lead teams through change and coach people on processes and work practices setting clear goals and enabling predictable delivery.

**What will you do?**
- Leads the team in the flow of work, setting clear goals and tracking progress of value delivery
- Communicate cross-functionally, ensuring transparency e.g status updates, sprint/product demos, and retrospectives
- Facilitate high/medium complexity deliverables from initiation through release, provide oversight to ensure appropriate Agile/Scrum/Kanban practices are leveraged throughout the product lifecycle
- Proactively seek to improve team performance by promoting joint accountability of results and productivity issues; including defining and tracking key team performance metrics to reinforce expected behaviors (velocity, unit test coverage, etc.)
- Manage risk governance processes, removing impediments to delivery success through the proactive management of external and cross-program dependencies
- Partner with and support RBC’s agile coaching community
- Ensure team principles and approaches are understood correctly by the whole team and product owner; maximizing the performance of the team.
- Fosters self-organization and collaborative scrum team; sheltering the team from outside distractions and friction to keep the focus on their goals.

**What do you need to succeed?**

**Must-have**:

- Undergraduate degree or minimum 5 years experience in software development and or project management, and or business (system) analysis
- Experienced Jira, Confluence, and Mural user
- Certified Scrum Master/Agile practitioner
- 2-3 years of experience as a Scrum Master - where Scrum principles, practices, and theory were diligently applied
- Experience with scaled agile methodologies and development lifecycle; ability to utilize agile methodologies, disciplines, practices, and techniques.
- Experienced coaching and mentoring capabilities to encourage, motivate, and guide individuals in learning and improving effectiveness.
- Knowledge of goal setting and reporting strategies such as Objectives and Key Results (OKRs); ability to facilitate teams setting OKRs, prioritizing and aligning work to them, and regularly reporting on progress.
- Experienced group facilitation with the ability to design and facilitate a group process, elicit and influence contributions from the group, stimulate a focused group discussion, and achieve a desired outcome.
