**Job Description**:

**Education**:

- Undergraduate degree in a related field required
- Minimum of 7 years highly specialized experience which includes human rights, anti-racism, diversity, equity and inclusion
- Certification and/or enrolment of a Diversity, equity, and inclusion program with an accredited organization such as Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion preferred

**Experience**:

- Demonstrated ability to design and implement educational programs from an anti-oppression framework, especially for adult learners
- Experience challenging the status quo and utilizing innovative thinking and demonstrated analytical problem-solving skills
- Experience managing high demands of a portfolio while working closely with partners needs to achieve strategic plan aligned outcomes

**Competencies**:

- Strong people leadership capabilities with effective change management experience and demonstrated ability to lead and influence cultural and organizational transformation
- Solid track record of establishing credibility and building relationships at all levels and providing proactive and responsive solutions
- A track record of driving positive experiences for people through programs, services, and advisory functions
- Demonstrated ability to be a mentor, advisor and advocate
- Comprehensive knowledge of current Diversity, Equity and Inclusion issues including systemic barriers to inclusion
- Exceptional facilitation, conflict resolution and supportive listening skills
- Skills to analyze and synthesize policy, interpret legislation and complex reports, and develop recommendations for a wide range of initiatives
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation, including: the Ontario Human Rights Code, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and Ontarians with Disabilities Act, and other relevant human rights legislation.
- Excellent organizational, collaboration and communication skills
- Report and proposal writing, contract negotiation, problem-solving skills, and computer literacy including Microsoft Office suite

**Responsibilities**:

- Serve as the lead for Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre’s Equity, Inclusion and Anti-Racism strategy
- Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of the strategy and design of the organization-wide approach to equity and inclusion, and ensuring initiatives are based on best practices
- Lead the delivery of various workshops, education, training that meets the needs of Team RVH and is responsive to changing/growing needs
- Collaborate with individuals and teams to help implement equity-informed practices into their work and promoting the integration of these practices into all aspects of the organization
- Collect, analyze and report on equity and inclusion related data analytics
- Engage in regular/ongoing professional development to stay current in diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racism best practices, available resources, trends and needs
- Contribute towards RVH’s talent brand as an employer of choice, and provider of choice within the healthcare industry
- Provide strategic advice on the development of required policies, training programs and other initiatives
- Collaborate with all levels of the organization and the community to drive innovative changes with a focus on inclusive practices and addressing discrimination
- Foster an equity-focused, healthy workplace culture that is fair, consistent, and respectful while simultaneously striving to create an effective employee and leadership team that reflects the rich diversity of the communities we serve
- Work with external consultants, as needed, to ensure key milestones are achieved for the organization’s equity, inclusion and anti-racism implementation journey
- Provide support and mentorship to staff, volunteers, and members of professional staff, particularly those of historically marginalized and underrepresented communities by providing active listening support, and discussing strategies and resources
- Serve as a resource to all areas of the organization with respect to inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility issues
- Facilitate programs that advocate for an inclusive climate where similarities and differences among people are recognized, respected, honored and celebrated
- Represent the department through participation in committees, teams and working groups
