**Overall Purpose**:
Power To Be is a non-profit organization that creates access to nature for youth, families, and adults living with cognitive, physical, financial, and social barriers. This is a term position starting in April 2024 and ending April 2025.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

**Fundraising**:

- Contribute to the development, monitoring and achievement of the annual Fundraising plan and associated goals in support of the strategic plan and vision of Power To Be
- Work in partnership with the Fundraising team and staff to facilitate maximum private and public sector fundraising (roughly $4 million per annum)
- Lead Annual Campaign and individual giving strategy, including major gifts and support relationship managers to implement plan
- Develop and implement a comprehensive plan for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a personal donor portfolio of prospects and donors, including attracting new major gifts (eventually leading to $25k+)
- Lead individual recognition and stewardship plan and ensure that appropriate recognition, acknowledgement, and stewardship is provided to partners (donors and other related partnerships such as in-kind support and program partners)
- Support the development and implementation of strategies for attracting individual and major gift funding for gift solicitations and coordinating gift solicitations in concert with the Co-CEOs and Director of Fundraising, Fundraising team and volunteers
- Make face-to-face visits with donors and prospective donors for the purposes of discovery, relationship cultivation, and solicitation
- Develop proposal strategies for individual gifts with the Fundraising team and working with donors to generate gifts for priority projects
- Generate processes and materials for presentations to community and donors
- Lead the development of a new Planned Giving program
- Ensure adherence to Power To Be donor recognition policies and brand standards including receipting, thank you cards and public recognition within prescribed timelines
- Maintain donor contact through calls, correspondence and personalized gift acknowledgement letters, record contact in CRM
- Protect and maintain the accuracy and confidentiality of all donor files
- Ensure all initiatives and activities are consistent with Power To Be’s mission, vision and values
- Adhere to Power To Be policies, CRA guidelines, Financial Controls, Code of Ethics of the AFP and Imagine Canada Ethical Code and other related legislation

**Events and Communications**:

- Identify marketing/communications opportunities for Power To Be
- Lead fundraising components of Power To Be events, such as auctions, individual fundraising or donor recognition/engagement
- Lead signature fundraising events to engage individual donors
- Oversee local community event engagement plan for events where Power To Be can have a presence (working with Fundraising and program staff on joint initiatives)
- Assist with the marketing and communications of programs and Power To Be to community stakeholders, or other related external communications

**Operations**:

- Contribute to or produce weekly reports to monitor strategies, objectives and timelines
- Support the formation of development policies and procedures
- Observe and support all fundraising tasks and notes in Power To Be’s CRM system
- Monitor fund development trends, issues and regulatory requirements
- Provide support to the development of annual Fundraising budget
- Manage an individual giving budget
- Understand and implement proper fiscal controls

**People**:

- Be a support to co-workers, volunteers and stakeholders; assist co-workers with their responsibilities in their absence as required
- Foster healthy internal communication and engagement practices
- Contribute to a positive and dynamic working culture congruent with Power To Be’s values
- In collaboration with the Volunteer Lead, recruit, support and/or supervise volunteers as required
- Participate in and/or chair meetings as required
- At a minimum, support or observe a Power To Be program once per quarter
