**ABOUT THE VICTORIA CHILDREN’S CHOIR**

The Victoria Children’s Choir (VCC) has a 22-year history of success as a cultural organization that aspires to artistic excellence through choral music and music education. We are proud of our diverse and ever-changing repertoire and the exposure we provide our choristers to a wide range of styles. The VCC is regularly called upon to partner with high calibre professional organizations, such as Pacific Opera Victoria and the Victoria Symphony, and we are proud of the collaborations we have participated in on the regional, national and international stage.

With an appreciation for choral tradition, a strong emphasis on developing healthy vocal technique, and a proven ability to achieve excellence in sound, the Choir supports choristers dedicated to nurturing and honing their vocal talents and collaborative ensemble skills. Currently there are over 150 choristers in four choral ensembles, ranging from 7 to 20 years old. Backed by a highly respected artistic team, and renowned for delivering professional quality performances, the VCC is celebrated as one of the premier children’s choirs in Canada.

The **Communications and Administration Manager **is an 11 month, part-time, contract position reporting directly to the Executive Director with close relationships to the Communications Committee. The annual stipend offered for this role is $11,000 CAD.

**POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Manage VCC social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram)
- Update and manage the VCC website (Wix experience is helpful)
- Work with the Artistic Director and Executive Director to establish a theme and graphic for both Signature Concerts
- Oversee production of all marketing material, working closely with our external graphic designer and Communications Committee
- Coordinate printing and distribution of concert posters, programmes, rack cards and brochures
- Organize photo shoots as required to build and update the VCC photo bank of images
- Organize recording sessions as required
- Create e-marketing material for concerts, recruitment, fundraisers etc.
- Manage the posting of concert recordings to the VCC YouTube channel
- Update the VCC marketing database
- Write and distribute press releases as required
- Create a welcome package for each choir
- Update VCC Parent handbook annually
- Update and manage Singing Space, training choir managers as required
- Develop and implement an annual marketing and promotional plan
- Support ED with ongoing administrative tasks as required
- Work within the budgetary guidelines for the choir
- Contribute to the organization’s overall vision in collaboration with the entire artistic and administrative team of the VCC

**Job Types**: Part-time, Contract
Contract length: 11 months
Part-time hours: 8 per week

**Salary**: $11,000.00 per year
