The Ministry of Children and Family Services works to foster a society in which families are safe and resilient, individuals have sustainable employment, vulnerable Albertans have the supports they require, and no one is left behind. Children and Family Services mission is to assist Albertans in creating the conditions for safe and supportive homes, communities, and workplaces so they have opportunities to realize their full potential. Its core business is to work collaboratively with community partners to deliver citizen-centered programs and services that improve quality of life for Albertans. The ministry deals with topics that vary widely and addresses many of the issues people face across their life span.
**Role Responsibilities**:
The Indigenous Connections and Culture Analyst coordinates the logistics for the Indigenous Cultural Understanding Framework (ICUF), which includes overseeing the registration of participants, ensuring meeting materials are provided to participants, and transfers/adds data to the Learning Environment Online (LEO) Database to enable the Ministry to efficiently pull data related to course completion, required for legislatively mandated documents (e.g. Annual Report, Business Plan, Committee of Supply).
**The key responsibilities of the position are**:
1. Coordinate the logistics for the cultural understanding workshops and training to ensure cultural understanding deliverables are developed and delivered in a timely manner and to the higher standard.
- Provide support to cultural training, including reviewing proposals and assisting with project planning activities (e.g. defining project scope, determining activities and resources, developing risk management strategies).
- Monitor and report on the status of cultural understanding training to the manager, including timelines, cost, issues, etc. Oversee the logistics for the ICUF training and ad hoc events; ensure registration lists are up to date, information and meeting materials are provided to participants, troubleshoot issues with participants as needed.2. Provide information, analysis and advice that will assist in the planning and development of advanced education policies and programs that support divisional and ministry goals.
- Transfer data for more than 3,500 Children and Family Services staff from an excel spreadsheet to the Learning Environment database to ensure data is consistent and can be addressed efficiently.
- Analyze and evaluate data and other information on advanced education issues drawn from a diverse range of sources, including statistical databases, legislation, policy documents, technical reports, and
- administrative and academic journals.
- Prepare action requests and briefing notes in response to DM/ADM requests.
3. Provide support to the Indigenous and Community Connections(ICC)
- Support engagement logistics for Indigenous Connections and Community Engagement as required (e.g. support in-person engagements, assists with logistics, etc.).
4. Modernize data storage for ICC.
- Transfer ICC data from M drive to SharePoint to ensure accessibility of data remotely for Branch staff
