**Operations Manager - Edmonton**
We are looking for an Operations Manager to add to our rapidly growing company in our Edmonton location.
JLM Supply Ltd. is a midsized Oil and Gas manufacturing company locally owned and operated in Alberta. Founded in 1981 with primary offerings of Valves & Strainers for the Oil & Gas Industry in Western Canada. Over the years we have evolved into a stocking distributor of one of the most comprehensive Valve and Strainer product lines for this industry as well as the power industry. Today, we represent not only one of the most comprehensive Valve and Strainer product lines in the industry, but also the conventional Oil & Gas product lines such as Insulation Kits, Bolting, Gaskets and Pipe Supports.
**Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for ensuring the company achieves or exceeds yearly budget
- Effectively manage all aspects of P & L including but not limited to cost and revenues
- Provide leadership by establishing clear expectations and demonstrating high standards of work practices and safety conscious behavior
- Management and talent assessment of all staff under your direction
- Ensure all resources are utilized efficiently
- Be available after hours to assist with resolving issues
- Liaise with sales and procurement to operational solutions
- Liaise with Human Resource to identify staffing requirements and ensure employee retention
- Build a sustainable structure for growth
- Develop strategies for continuous improvement and sustainable structure
- Maintain constant communication with management & staff to ensure proper operations of the organization
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols
- Grow the efficiency of existing organizational processes and procedures to enhance and sustain the organizations internal capacity
- Actively pursue strategic and operational objectives
- Ensure operational activities remain on time and within a defined budget
- Creating long-term plans and initiatives to accomplish company goals efficiently
- Coordinating with other teams to implement strategies and cross training efforts
- Analyzing budgets to minimize expense
- Develop and implement strategies to keep employees motivated and dedicated
- Lead, motivate and support a team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment
- Oversee materials and inventory management
- Conduct budget reviews and report cost plans to upper management
- Identifying problems and coming up with effective solutions quickly
- Monitor changing market conditions and adjusting strategies accordingly
**Qualifications**:
- Degree in business administration, business management or accounting is preferred
- Ability to make quick decisions
- Strong attention to details
- Ability to manage time effectively and multi-task
- Effective teamwork skills
- Ability to work under pressure and proactively implement contingency plans
- A high degree of initiative
- Conflict management
- Ability to effectively handle multiple conflicting priorities
- Strong communication, customer service and computer skills
- Ability to build rapport with all customers, employees, and internal stakeholders
**Experience**:
- Minimum 5 years (required) working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Minimum 3 years (required) in a management or supervisory role
- Manufacturing operations management: 3 years (required)
