**THE OPPORTUNITY**

Triton Environmental Consultants Ltd. (“Triton”) is seeking a highly-motivated and enthusiastic **Environmental Technician or Monitor** to join a well-established team of environmental professionals based out of **Prince Rupert and Terrace**.
- Monitoring construction work activities as they relate to environmental protection, including implementation of environmental protection plans
- Monitoring and collecting water quality samples in both freshwater and marine environments
- Supporting pre-construction bird nest sweeps, and fish and amphibian salvage programs
- Preparing daily and weekly summary reports
- Attending project and safety meetings
- Promoting safety culture and complying with safety protocols
- Liaising with clients, regulators, and contractors
- Working collaboratively within Triton corporate culture

**SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS**
- Post-secondary education (degree, diploma, and/or certificate) in biology, forestry, agriculture, environmental science, or related program
- Minimum of one year of experience as an environmental technician or monitor
- Registration with a professional regulatory body is an asset
- Experience in fish salvage, water quality monitoring, pre-construction bird sweeps, and amphibian salvage an asset
- Adept in the operation and maintenance of required field equipment
- Ability to identify and mitigate issues rapidly to ensure compliance within an active construction work environment
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Able to communicate effectively with clients, contractors, regulators, and co-workers
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Detail oriented with solid organizational and time-management skills
- Physically fit and able to work in all weather conditions
- Willing to work on a 2-week work rotation
- Valid driver's license from a Canadian province or Territory acceptable for driving alone and with passengers in a work setting

The compensation range for this position is $24-$35 per hour, dependent on qualifications and experience.
