In this role, you’ll manage the C&EM department’s Strategic Partnerships group and related projects with key internal and external stakeholders, such as the provincial government, BC Hydro, Natural Resources Canada, Industry Associations, other FortisBC departments and more. You’ll lead and manage collaboration within C&EM to effectively identify and leverage opportunities that enhance FortisBC’s leadership role in the energy management field, and support FortisBC’s decarbonization initiatives. In year 1, you will:
Gain familiarity of C&EM, key stakeholders, and Strategic Partnerships’ projects, and understand the objectives, targets, and capabilities of the C&EM department and our partners.
Oversee the execution of existing partnership contracts, joint initiatives, and corporate strategy initiatives that support FortisBC in demonstrating its energy efficiency and decarbonization activities.
Initiate and foster productive working relationships with new and existing partners. In year 2, you will:
Strategically grow C&EM’s suite of strategic partnerships to support advanced demand side management (DSM) targets and goals.
Identify and lead corporate strategy initiatives that enhance C&EM’s understanding of DSM in B.C and Canada and enable the team to leverage new opportunities. What it takes:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or related discipline from a recognized program, plus a minimum of five (5) years of recent, related experience with projects or program and project development.
Project Management Professional or Certified Energy Manager designation would be an asset, and a demonstrated understanding of utility DSM and low-carbon electrification are considered assets.
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to build trust, credibility and foster productive working relationships and navigate difficult conversations and projects with conflicting objectives.
Excellent project and budget management skills to manage C&EM’s execution of joint initiatives with multiple stakeholders, contract negotiations, project budgets, and lead cross-functional teams to complete projects.
A demonstrated ability to multi-task and adapt as internal and external variables change, and to respond strategically to unexpected and ad-hoc requests.
