**The Opportunity**

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Health Promotion or designate, the Project Manager will be responsible for the expansion of a survivor-centered safety and empowerment planning framework called Roots of Safety to address the root causes of gender-based violence. The Project Manger will be responsible for engaging immigrant, refugee, ethnocultural, and racialized (IRER) female gender-based violence (GBV) survivors to lead service providers in critical reflection on policy and practice, addressing discriminatory GBV prevention and response policies, and creating processes for ongoing collaboration. This role will involve a significant amount of partnership development and collaboration with survivors, community-based organizations, provincial umbrella organizations, and other stakeholders involved with GBV systems of care.

In addition to leading this specific project, the Project Manager will support and enhance the existing Roots of Safety program, as well as other in-house gender-based violence programs and knowledge translation. This will include the oversight of direct service delivery, ensuring client-centred design, implementation, innovation and evaluation of programs and services in the Violence Prevention portfolio. The Project Manager ensures the fulfillment of contractual deliverables, manages associated human and financial resources and manages risk within the portfolio. The Manager will monitor emerging client and community needs, secure and grow funding for programs/services, advocate to funders and develop strategic partnerships to enhance community-based efforts.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- University degree in social sciences or relevant post-secondary training and experience in counselling, psychology, social work, gender based domestic violence, mental health and co-occurring disorders or related fields.
- Proven recent program development experience, with knowledge of federal, provincial contract management.
- A minimum of 3-years’ experience working in a community based non-profit society or related experience;
- A minimum of 2-years’ experience in program management and/or funding and proposal/grant writing;
- A minimum of 2-years’ experience with setting up and overseeing quality improvement for projects including a breadth and depth review process, evaluation, monitoring.
- A minimum of 1-year experience in supervising staff, preferably within a unionized setting;
- Experience with Sharepoint and webinar development is strongly preferred along with strong computer literacy skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with budget forecasting and expenditure monitoring;
- Strong English language skills including written, oral and presentation skills. A second language would be considered an asset;
- Knowledge and experience working with immigrant, refugee, ethnocultural and racialized communities
- Knowledge and experience working in gender-based violence programs and systems
- Experience and knowledge of evaluation, outcomes measurement and research methodologies.
- Knowledge of Surrey, North Delta, White Rock, and/or Langley communities an asset;
- Excellent problem solving ability, discretion and judgement;
- Able to work independently and collegially in a team environment;
- Innovative, flexible, and able to manage change and uncertainty;
- Valid BC Driver’s License and access to personal vehicle;
- Willing to work some evenings and weekends, as needed.
