**Job Details**

CARFAX Canada is excited to announce the position of Data Operations Analyst. In this role you will work on-site from our London, ON office and report to the Manager of Database Operations. The Data Operations Analyst will work closely with our Database Engineers and Administrators to analyze the quality of our data feeds, produce reports, document schema and document usage. They are experts on our data and are able to develop their own quality metrics, provide guidance to the development and product teams on how and where our data can be used, and be able to source the appropriate data for delivering on report requirements. This role requires strong SQL scripting skills as well as the ability to work with a diverse portfolio of data technology platforms.

**Position Responsibilities**
- Respond to business needs with defined analysis solutions to meet their exacting reporting requirements.
- Provide the Product teams with data analytics in partnership with business needs to help deliver innovated solutions.
- Provide Data Quality Metrics used to determine problems and reach out to our Data Source providers when issues occur with their feeds.
- Drive value and quality initiatives related to data used in analytics and production.
- Work with the Data Governance team to record any provider data limitations and pertinent details to its utilization.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis, visualizations and reporting as requested by other internal departments.
- Provide requirements, practices and job-aids for departments to become self-sufficient for repetitive reporting/analytic needs.
- Develop cross-functional relationships to foster collaboration with teams in Sales, Marketing, and Finance.
- Identify, research and resolve problems to maintain standards of data quality and accuracy.
- Maintain data flows through communication and coordination with stakeholders, IT, management, and other external data providers.

**Education and Experience Required**:

- Post-secondary education, college diploma or university degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
- 2 - 3 years of experience working with large data sets either in the industry or academic equivalent.
- Demonstrable experience with BI Solutions (PowerBI, Cognos, Tableau, etc.).
- Data Science experience is an asset.
- SQL Query, statistical analysis software such as SPSS, SAS, R, Python are a big asset.
- Ability to work with stakeholders to identify and define business requirements and business rules.
- Experience in business data analytics an asset (i.e. Financial valuations, quality assessments).
- Knowledge of data governance practices and approaches include data policies, data lineage is a strong asset.
- Experience working in an agile environment.
- Strong industry knowledge is an asset.
