**Position Description**:
Reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), this position will lead the development and implementation of the Toronto Region Board of Trade’s (The Board) membership & partnership and revenue and engagement strategy. The role is responsible for the Board’s sponsorable asset inventory, working with internal teams to identify opportunities to deliver value to key partners and stakeholders. As well, the role oversees the member acquisition and retention strategy, as well as our member experience.

**Role Description**:
**Sales Leadership**:

- Possess a deep passion for the organization's mission and values is essential for effectively promoting its objectives to sponsors and potential members. This passion serves as a driving force behind developing compelling narratives that resonate with stakeholders and encourage their support.
- Works with CCO to develop and implement a sales strategy that aligns with the overall business goals and objectives to drive revenue growth by increasing market share and driving new business development opportunities.
- Responsible for full-cycle member and partner acquisition, including prospecting, pitching, nurturing and reporting of potential opportunities
- Proven track record in sales and negotiation with ability to create compelling sponsorship packages, negotiate favorable terms, and close sponsorship deals that provide long-term value for both the organization and its sponsors.
- Monitor and analyze market trends and customer need to identify sales opportunities.
- Build and maintain relationships with key clients, industry partners, and vendors.
- Possess a solid understanding of marketing strategies, including digital marketing, content creation, and social media, to effectively work collaboratively with internal comms team to increase visibility to potential partners and members.
- Develop and present sales reports to executive leadership team, highlighting key successes and challenges, and proposing solutions to achieve targets.
- Ability to develop compelling proposals for a c-suite and top executive audience
- Attend Board events, industry events, conferences, and trade shows in order to promote the company and develop new relationships.

**Operational Leadership**:

- Lead sales team of 2 direct reports and total team size of ~10 membership and partnership team members, setting performance targets, coaching sales professionals, and assessing performance.
- Collaborate with other executives and key departments (communications, marketing, finance, operations) to develop integrated plans that align with the sales strategy.
- Oversees member and partner internal CRM strategy
- Develop and maintain sales forecasts and budgets, and analyze sales data to ensure goals are met.
- Analyze data, track key performance indicators, and draw insights from membership and sponsorship metrics to informed decision-making.
- Stays up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and competitors' activities and actively participate in industry conferences, networking events, and professional organizations

**Your experience includes**:

- 15 to 20 years of experience in Partnerships, Business Development, and/or Sales, with experience in a B2B environment
- 10 to 15 years of experience managing a team with proven leadership and people development skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead strategy development, execution and professional reporting in a partnership, business development or sales capacity
- Superior writing ability with proven experience developing compelling and professional client proposals
- Effective project and time management capabilities and exceptional organizational skills, with proven ability to meet strict and competing deadlines for multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
