**Role Summary**

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director, Corporate Development is key member of the senior leadership team who will facilitate the strategic direction of Backwoods with partnerships, alliances, and acquisitions. This will require the Director, Corporate Development to build and implement the corporate development program at Backwoods which will include, but is not limited to partnership, alliance, and acquisition: identification, cultivation, strategy, and negotiation.

**Responsibilities**
- Positively influence and shape a large and inclusive organizational culture to be one that’s productive, vibrant, and a desirable place to work.
- Leading and coordinating the efforts of a team of executives with a focus on strategy development
- Create the corporate development program including, performance indicators, strategic goals, policies, and procedures.
- Develop forecast/ financial models, budget, valuation, due diligence, and other relevant analytical tools along with integration documents and processes to support, strategic rationale, negotiation, and recommendations for Corporate Development initiatives (partnerships, alliances, mergers, and acquisitions)
- Oversight of the merger and acquisition cycle in its entirety, which includes but is not limited to sourcing, negotiation, due diligence, closing, and integration.
- Leading evaluation meetings for deals, facilitating decision-making in an objective, diplomatic, and effective manner.
- Cultivate relationships and to and recommending transaction strategies, including pricing and structure.
- Ensure awareness and understanding of market activity, and ensure external perspectives on competitors, market attractiveness, and target positioning are obtained.
- Overseeing governance of the alliance and partnership, resolve conflicts, negotiate Operations & Maintenance agreements.
- Monitoring the progress of acquisitions post-integration, ensuring ongoing success, and reporting metrics and recommended actions to management.
- Developing a pipeline of potential M&A opportunities based on strategic priorities.

- Extensive understanding, commitment, and experience with leaders and communities and a strong belief in diversity, equity, and mergers and acquisitions.
- Extensive experience with corporate development including mergers, acquisitions and strategic partnerships.
- Strategic thinking, excellent analytical skills and possesses extensive knowledge to support continuous improvement efforts or remedy identified defects or system constraints impacting outcomes.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other business and data analytics software.

**Qualifications**
- Required: University Bachelors’ Degree
- A minimum of (7) years of pertinent work experience encompassing corporate development strategy and execution, client/stakeholder relationship management, and partnership cultivation.
- Effective working with a various levels of internal and external stakeholders
- Exceptional people skills to establish and maintain strong relationships with professionals and business owners.
- Strong work ethic and ability to deliver under pressure against tight deadlines.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to analyze client needs and propose customized solutions.
