Reporting to the Manager, Fleet & Equipment and working in conjunction with the Fleet Lead, the Tool & Equipment Lead will coordinate activities associated with fleet, supplies, tools, equipment, warehouse, and yard. They will assist in scheduling & maintenance of equipment, and of the inspection and record management of all tools and inventory including analyzing the need for replacement and/or the cost of repairs.

This position is based in Edmonton.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide expertise in the development of tool and equipment management strategies.
- Support the RFx process for the selection of a tooling and equipment software system.
- Lead for technical tooling and equipment knowledge to support the RFx process.
- Collaborate with operations to assess and improve current tool and equipment management processes.
- Migrate all onsite tools and equipment into a software management system.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain to capture new tool and equipment purchases into the software system.
- Complete data analysis to determine inventory levels, utilization, and identify potential shortages and/or delivery delays.
- Propose strategies to reduce cost and improve procedures for supply chain logistics.
- Report on inventory levels, supply chain progress and procedural efficiencies.
- Coordinate and schedule daily activities of equipment and tool requirements.
- Maintain inventory of available, tools, materials and equipment, monitoring overall demand to anticipate future supply needs.
- Preventative maintenance of tools and equipment including testing, calibrations, lubrications and cleaning providing required reporting to management.
- Assist in coordination of maintenance / repair for tools and equipment.
- Assist in the signing in and out of tools and equipment to prevent loss and hoarding while maximizing utilization.
- Address and escalate safety concerns.
- Coordinate with Manager of Fleet & Equipment, Operations and Purchasing or other personnel to expedite movement of tools/equipment between projects or suppliers.
- Assist in the layout of the tool room, warehouse, yard and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight and related factors of items stored.
- Advise employees on care and preservation of items received, stored and shipped methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining and shipping stock and related problems.
- Schedule work for special and periodic tools and equipment inventories.
- Develop business relationships with internal customers and key suppliers.

What We Are Looking For
- A combination of training, education and experience equivalent to 5+ years in an Industrial Construction Tool & Equipment environment
- Lead or supervisory experience and asset
- Implementation experience with tool management software such as ToolHound or ToolWatch
- Experience using SAP or other ERP’s essential
- Mechanically inclined with a proven ability to adapt quickly to evolving technologies
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software including; MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, PowerPoint and Word skill
- Organizational skills and experience tracking and understanding the importance of maintaining good, accurate documentation including coordination of vehicle/equipment repairs and maintenance
