Responsibilities and Expectations:
The primary responsibility of the Repair Shop Supervisor is to supervise repair shop personnel, improve safety and work efficiency, and quoting repair work. Responsibilities included:
Safety: Demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of the site’s safety program through personal compliance in safety programs and building an interdependent safety culture.
- Personal Safety
- Strive to maintain personal training compliance at 100%.
- Complete safety program requirements to meet leading indicator goals.
- Comply with PPE requirements in all areas.
- Interdependent Safety
- Ensure crew is scheduled to complete safety training requirements.
- Conduct hazard inspections or work areas.
- Watch for, and report, safety hazards when in the field.
Key Tasks: Empower and influence others to adapt proper practices into their regular work duties by demonstrating leadership and expertise. Increase efficiency of repair shop.
- Coordinate the day-to-day tasks for the Repair shop.
- Ensure crew is working safely.
- Create and support Repair quotes.
- Assist with technical training and advise direct labor work force on motor repair/refurbishment techniques.
- Schedule crew for efficient and effective completion of work, maximizing utilization rates.
- Promote and advance CIPS framework and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Act as a technical resource for service center to solve problems, advance jobs and quoting.
- Work to provide an Unmatched Customer Experience with all our efforts.
Human Resources: Ensure an inclusive and respectful workplace.
- Follow all prescribed policies and remain respectful to co-workers and vendors.
- Report all unethical or harassing behavior to HR or direct supervisor.
- Create and maintain a supportive work environment for all crew members.
- Assess and relay employees’ personal performance during annual reviews.
- Hold employees accountable for safety, quality, and performance commitments.
Accounting:
- Participate in yearly budget creation.
- Have any personal expenses approved by the direct manager before committing personal funds.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Have relevant experience, ideally in an industrial repair or motor repair capacity.
- 3+ years supervisory experience.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Analytical, organized, and decisive
- Detail-oriented with a focus on customer service
- Exceptional communication and leadership abilities
- Efficient multitasker, adept at meeting deadlines
- Strong computer skills and cost analysis proficiency
- Adherence to IPS Core Values, strong ownership mentality
- Effective interpersonal skills and adaptability to change
- Demonstrates a strong work ethic and good judgment
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional long hours
- Comfortable in diverse environments, including exposure to loud noises, heat, cold, and dust
- May require occasional travel
Physical Requirements:
- Heavy industry facility. Will require some climbing, lifting, and traversing uneven terrain.
- Sitting at a computer/workstation for extended periods.
