**Department/Faculty Summary**

TREC is a complex research program which holds 18 active grants from national and provincial granting agencies and provincial government which total over $8 million. The program currently employs 28 staff, Postdoctoral Fellows, Research Associates, Research Assistants and trainees.

**Position Summary**

The Project Coordinator (RPC) will support data collection of the TMS Workforce Resilience Study regionally under the guidance of TREC’s Field Coordinator, supporting relationships with regional stakeholders including staff at participating facilities. The Regional Project Coordinator will provide day-to-day support of the TMS Workforce Resilience Study, following standard operating procedures and policies issued by the Project Management Team.

There will be 2 Regional Project Coordinators, one located in each region (Edmonton Zone, Calgary Zone) under the direct report of TREC’s Field Coordinator and working directly with the TMS Project Coordinator. They will be out in the field (in-person and virtually) collectors, engaging directly with stakeholders, supervising data collectors, problem-solving issues, and maintaining quality data collection per TREC standards.

This position will focus on the Alberta Workforce Resilience Study and support the ongoing TREC Measurement System (TMS). The TREC Measurement System (TMS) is an observational study in which data are collected across ~90 facilities from several thousand providers. TMS surveys are collected at approximately 18-month intervals, while data from residents is collected in annual and quarterly (RAI-MDS 2.0) assessments routinely captured in the nursing homes. The upcoming Alberta Workforce Resilience Study is an expanded wave of the longitudinal TMS observational study. It will run through 2025 and include an expanded cohort of LTC homes in Alberta.

**Duties**
- Monitor, maintain, and update detailed project timelines and deliverables for the region, ensuring targets are achieved
- Develop and maintain strong relationships and communication channels with participating regional facilities (nursing homes) and the staff, their units and targeted numbers and profiles of participants for the TREC program. Travelling to facilities is a requirement of the position.
- Understand and maintain study protocols to reflect the requirements of the regional environment
- Monitor facilities to identify any risks which may affect a facility's ability to participate in the Project
- Support the recruitment and training of Data Collectors and lead the supervision of Data Collectors
- Maintain a small budget of local resource funds; monitoring the budget, compiling and submitting financial reports to the TREC Management team
- Attend training sessions, team meetings, and AGMs (usually held in Edmonton)
- Ensure that regular communication is maintained at all participating facilities in the region and responds in a timely way to all issues and queries from the facilities
- Work independently to engage the facilities and their staff, and ensure data collection activities are scheduled
- Schedule and monitor interviews at facilities
- Ensure that quality control procedures are adhered to, and the highest quality data is collected
