- 1 temporary, summer opportunity from May to August_ 2024_

As a summer student, you will play a vital part in helping a team that administers over 24,000 annual temporary road use permits for a wide range of purposes, including On-Street Construction (OSCAM), Block Party, Waste Bins/PODS, and Temporary Parking. Your success will be measured by your ability to achieve results in a respectful, inclusive and service-minded way.

**Your duties will include**:

- Liaise with applicants as required to ensure accurate customer, work location, and accounting information is provided
- Review OSCAM permit location for conflicts with other Truck Route / TRAVIS Permits or other work
- Finalize permits, and work with internal stakeholders to issue approved permits
- Accurately work with high work volumes in a highly structured area
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders
- Perform administrative duties for the Regulated Road Use team
- Perform other related duties as required

**Qualifications**:

- Currently enrolled and returning to school or a post-secondary institution in the fall of 2024
- Applicants must be First Nation, Metis or Inuit

**Note**: Hired students must meet the eligibility requirements of the Indigenous Summer Student Program

**Assets**:

- Ability to read maps, such as truck route maps
- Proficient typing and data entry skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to maintain strong working relationships
- Demonstrated ability to take direction from and provide support to various City staff
- Demonstrated ability to multitask with attention to detail
- Ability to thoroughly and accurately create and maintain detailed electronic records
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize work tasks and make independent decisions related to task management and calendar request

**Hours of Work**:40 Hours per week, Monday - Friday.

The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance.

**Salary Range**: $17.505 (Hourly)
