**Job Summary**:
**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:
- Providing coaching and support for new nursing graduates, IENs, nurses receiving upskilling and/or mentorship and other non-nurse mentees.
- Ensure nurses meet both organizational and professional standards by facilitating their integration into the clinical environment, working closely with clinical teams and providing comprehensive, at-the-elbow support to enhance their practice.
- Collaborates and contributes to ongoing interdisciplinary orientation and onboarding needs of new nurses.
- Collaborate with clinical leadership teams and point of care staff across the organization and other support services to ensure adherence to scheduling policies and models of care
- Serves as a liaison and fosters partnership between the MOH, clinical leaders, interprofessional practice and clinical scholar program nurses.
- Will assess and support clinical learning needs at the bedside in order to build capacity, critical thinking skills, therapeutic communication and while performing controlled acts
- Provide ongoing monitoring and evaluation of programs including the creation of learning goals and objectives. Development of action plans and identification or any barriers to learning will also be an expectation.
**Qualifications include but are not limited to**:
- Registered Nurse (RN) registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) in the General Class in good standing; or nurses who have retired and still registered with the CNO
- Minimum five (5) years clinical geriatric point of care/bedside experience in a hospital setting is required
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
- Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Superior communication skills and ability to communicate effectively to direct and motivate team and others, maintaining a persuasive and credible presentation style at all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels
- Ability to distill complex information into clear, concise messages
- Ability to influence others and able to establish credibility with all levels of the organization, challenging the status quo and being a catalyst for positive change
- Demonstrate leadership, change management, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple, often competing priorities
- Demonstrated effective critical thinking, analytical, decision making and problem-resolution skills
- Demonstrated expertise and ability to apply, teach, coach and mentor individuals and teams
