**Position Description**:

- The Interprofessional Education Specialist (IES) is a leadership role focused on advancing paediatric practice through the provision of interprofessional education which influences clinical, professional and leadership development. Education is an iterative process whereby the educator is engaged in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation that influences the development of staff and students along the continuum of novice to expert practice. The vision for the role is operationalized through program development, classroom and clinical teaching, continuous quality improvement, staff & patient safety, consultation, networking, education innovation, scholarship and strategic initiatives.The diagnostic & interventional radiology IES is a medical radiation technologist or sonographer who supports the current educational needs, as well as future growth/expansion of the department of diagnostic & interventional radiology. This IES will support orientation, ongoing professional development, educational program design, and clinical leadership for MRTs and sonographers in the department. This individual will partner with the nursing IES to build a comprehensive education program for the department. The DIR IES will play an essential role supporting education and maintenance of clinical competencies and practice changes for all MRTs and sonographers. They will also advance clinical practice through scholarly work and mentorship. The IES will report to the Learning Institute, Senior Manager Interprofessional Education Specialists and the Associate Chief, Nursing and Interprofessional Education with matrix accountability to the Clinical Director of Diagnostic & Interventional Radiology.**Here¿s What You¿ll Get To Do**
- Ensure delivered education meets established practice standards and facilitate access to clinical resources, best practice guidelines, standards of practice or other resources as required to inform learning
- Conduct or contribute to developing specialized in services or education sessions based on practice updates and identified needs
- Ensure reporting metrics are completed and submitted.
- Lead & support professional practice changes for MRTs and sonographers
- Use knowledge grounded in theory, research and experience to develop, implement and evaluate educational programs and to integrate core clinical concepts into programming.
- Provide mentorship and coaching.
- Demonstrate commitment to life-long learning and disseminate new knowledge through scholarly work including presentations and publications.
- Mentor and support DIR team members to conduct scholarly work including presentations & publications
- You will work collaboratively with the IES team, Managers, Directors, Clinical Instructors and interprofessional colleagues in creating a healthy learning and work environment. You will be a strong role model for education colleagues, stakeholders & staff.
- You are a systems thinker who collaborates with Interprofessional colleagues in program development, knowledge translation strategies and implementation science.

**Essential Requirements**
- Three (3) or more years of experience working within a Paediatric Diagnostic Imaging & Interventional Radiology Department
- Experience working as an MRT or Sonographer for a minimum of 3 years
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Radiation Sciences, Applied Sciences (Medical Imaging) or relevant equivalent
- Enrollment or Completion of Master of Education or Master¿s Degree in related Health Science field
- Member in good standing of the CMRITO
- Strong evidence of clinical expertise in paediatric patient care and dedication to excellence in clinical practice
- Demonstrated experience with theoretical and practical work in adult education including program planning, change leadership and project management
- Experience in teaching in both clinical and classroom setting
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) a
