IT Analyst

POSITION
Champlain College Saint-Lambert is seeking the services of a IT ANALYST to work on a full-time permanent position (35 hours per week) in the Information Technology department.

FUNCTIONS
Reporting to the Coordinator of Information Technology, the IT Analyst is responsible for the project management, coordination, supervision of the installation and operation of the computer hardware and telecommunications equipment for the College, including Continuing Education, as well as the development and implementation of standards and procedures.

1. Optimizes the operating systems of the College computers including inherent security systems:
a. Develops and controls information security systems and processes;
b. Implements security solutions and corrective actions;
c. Monitors vulnerabilities and plan corrective measures;
d. Organizes information and educational activities on information security;
e. Addresses and responds to security incidents.
2. Meets with Management to analyze user needs, deadlines and resources necessary for IT projects;
3. Advises on available technological solutions, feasibility and operations of computer based systems and telecommunications equipment;
4. Identifies opportunities in association with the Academic Services in order to produce content for the delivery of workshops, videos, and written support guides to support teachers in the adoption of technology for the purpose of enhancing the pedagogical experiences of our students;
5. Plans, coordinates, executes and supervises information technology projects;
6. Evaluates overall performance and makes recommendations to improve efficiency;
7. Develops and implements standards and procedures to facilitate functions pertaining to production, input/output flow, and quality control, interface procedures, operational priorities, maintenance schedules, system failure logs, planning and scheduling of technical upgrades and modifications, and interface with all IT operations to ensure parallel operations, standards and procedures;
8. Anticipates, assess risks and resolves problems that could arise during projects;
9. Monitors the progress of projects and reports to the Coordinator of Information Technology;
10. Provides training, support and guidance to the information technology employees, ensures clear and constant communication between team members;
11. Fulfils functions as requested to support the delivery of IT services to the College community.

**Requirements**:
**Education**:
Must possess an Undergraduate degree in an appropriate field of specialization such as Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
As well as a specialized certification delivered by a recognized authority, particularly in the field of information resources.

**Experience**:
Must have at least five (5) years of relevant experience with Windows Server technology virtualization environmnets.

Must be able to communicate in English and French both spoken and written;
The incumbent will be required to work in English in order to better serve faculty and staff.

**Work Schedule**: Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (35 hours per week)

**Salary Scale**: 50 150.00 - 92 027.00
