**How will you make an impact?**

Manages projects and supports key operational excellence initiatives at the site.

**What will you do**:
Operational Excellence Projects
- Analyzes/defines operational opportunities primarily within site operations by conducting detailed operational, value stream and financial analyses, interviewing key personnel, and observing operations as directed by Sr Leader of Operational Excellence.
- Based on assessment of opportunities, creates specific proposals for operational improvement projects to senior management, including basic cost-benefit analysis.
- Directly leads and/or manages approved operational improvement projects, ensuring projects achieve desired objectives.
- Maintains projects on time and budget, reporting to Sr Leader of Operations Excellence, manages expectations and risk, and ensures post-implementation benefits are realized.
- Calculates savings realized through projects, working with Finance and Project sponsors to achieve agreed final financial impact of project.
- Provides coaching and support to other project leads (typically Green Belts) as directed by Sr Leader of Operational Excellence.

Operational Excellence Program
- Supports the development of an operational excellence culture by using the various methodologies and tools such as: lean manufacturing, six sigma, pull manufacturing, total productive maintenance, waste reduction in scrap, cycle time, Work in Progress (WIP), scrap, labour utilization.
- Builds’ relationships with Patheon’s leaders to understand their business objectives and priorities, and develop supporting improvement initiatives;
- Develops a deep understanding of Patheon’s manufacturing sites’ capabilities and processes;
- Stays abreast of new developments in business process improvement methodology and best practices, including learning from other Patheon sites, market leaders and industries;
- Acts as an internal consultant for sharing and implementation of operational excellence best practices primarily within the site.
- Assists in the education and training of site staff, including the shop floor level, on operational excellence principles.

**How will you get here?**

**Education**:
High school diploma/General Educational Development (GED) Certificate is required.

Post-secondary education preferred

**Experience**:
Minimum 2 years of related experience post-University graduation.

Knowledge of operational excellence concepts and tools, such as value stream mapping, business process re-design, Lean Six Sigma, Root cause identification, solution modeling and simulation, cycle time reduction, facility layout design, etc. - an asset

Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification would be considered beneficial.

**Equivalency**_:_

Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision. Ability to develop a strong goal oriented team environment. Demonstrated commitment to our 4i Values. A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Proficiency with the English Language.
