JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for overseeing all field operations in multiple construction projects. This role will be the driving force in ensuring our project plans are successfully completed as per design, budget, and schedule. This position will lead and coach the Site Coordinators while being responsible for safety and quality. The Site Superintendent is expected to spend a minimum of 85% of their workweek on the jobsite.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
Health and Safety
- Create and maintain a culture of Safety First, leading by example and holding our site teams and site partners accountable
- Works with the Project Manager and Site Safety Manager to ensure implementation of Toro Aluminum’s safety program and adherence to all safety requirements
- Work in partnership with Site Coordinators to ensure all on site safety standards are being met
- Work in compliance with the Health & Safety Act and regulations including using any equipment, protective devices or clothing as required;
- Report any known workplace hazards or violations of the Act to promptly in line with Company process

Technical/Function
- Oversee, direct, coach, train, and mentor direct and indirect reports on the Project team
- Effectively communicates with Site teams and subcontractors to ensure that performance, productivity, quality, and safety requirements are met
- Collaborates with the Project team in finding solutions to potential problems, identifying risks, work interferences and schedule conflicts.
- Designs and implements recovery plan if required
- Assists to create, maintain, and execute the project plan and schedule to ensure compliance with budget and quality
- Reviews and understands the contract and subcontracts
- Develops and maintain strong customer focused relationships with all stakeholders
- Contributes to company initiatives
- Performs other duties as required by the needs of the business

Internal/External Customer Service
- Work in partnership with clients and other site contractors to ensure all parties are aligned with the project requirements
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and Toro Aluminum stakeholders
- Being proactive in identifying issues and helping to address these to best serve the needs of customers

Administration
- Submits site reports on a periodical basis in line with specific areas of responsibility

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma
- Postsecondary degree or diploma in related field preferred (Architecture, Construction, Building Science, Engineering)
- Management (Post-secondary in Management is an asset)

EXPERIENCE
- 2-4 years of experience in construction or a related discipline
- 1-3 years of experience in the Window and Door industry is not required, but would be an asset

SKILLS
- Basic knowledge of, or ability to learn, construction specifications, methods, and procedures.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders internally and externally
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong team player
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and construction related software
