What is the role?

Reporting to the Director of Total Rewards, this role is also the first level contact for all store, warehouse and office employee and supervisor inquiries related to general HR questions and Workday. The role will provide you valuable exposure to the varied HR functions of a Canadian retailer while ensuring that we are delivering the best user HRIS experience to our employees.

What will you do?
- Handle a wide variety of Pet Valu employees' HR requests
- Assist in ongoing maintenance and improvements to our Workday HCM and CONCUR systems, including, configuration, testing, auditing, training and providing first level user support
- Meet with head office new hires on their first day as well as design and deliver a virtual new hire orientation for all head office new hires
- Provide support to other HR functions as needed within a hybrid work environment, providing an opportunity to develop additional skills

What will you need to succeed?

Education and Experience
- Graduate of a post-secondary program with an HR, Business or IT focus
- 1 - 2+ years of HR Admin experience, with an HRIS System is ideal (we provide the Workday specific training)
- Prior workplace use of MS Word and Excel (pivots and lookups)

Knowledge and Skills
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Strong client-service orientation
- Very detail orientated
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Self-management, able to plan your own work, set deadlines, follow-up and report on progress in a timely manner
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative and results driven environment
