**Your opportunity**:
Reporting to the Director, International Education Centre, the International Education Administrator will advance the International Education Centre’s (IEC) mission, as an innovative, collaborative and globally significant leader in the internationalization of the student experience.

The International Education Administrator (IEA) will act as the first point of contact for students. The IEA will assume primary responsibility for the Centre’s frontline services ensuring international students and those seeking to internationalize their experience receive tailored advice, support and referrals on all matters related to international student support, intercultural development and global learning. The IEA will achieve this by taking a holistic approach to student success coordinating the Centre’s front line services, creating and implementing marketing & communications initiatives, administering the University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP) at the local level, and providing overall administrative support to the operation.

The Administrator will play a critical role in supporting and advancing the work of the IEC, in order to provide coordinated and meaningful support to international and globally-minded students at UTM.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Acting as the first point of contact for general enquiries addressing the needs of international students and diverse populations
- Developing content for marketing and/or promotional materials
- Fostering cooperative working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external contacts
- Maintaining information on digital platforms
- Screening and making referrals to appropriate resources and services
- Directing the activities of casual staff

**Essential Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Marketing, Communication, Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum two (2) years related professional and/or para-professional experience in customer service,communication and/or administrative support with diverse groups of post-secondary student aged populations.
- Strong experiential background in student transition; particularly, experience working with diverse communities and understanding international student transition issues is required.
- Excellent customer service skills with demonstrated intercultural competency and an understanding of anti-oppression and equity practices are required.
- Proven leadership and supervisory skillsdirecting and supporting student staff or equivalent groups are required.
- Expertise using Adobe Creative Suite (or equivalent), Microsoft Office, and Drupal (or equivalent).
- Excellent administrative skills, including word processing, dataanalysis, desktop publishing and experience with databases and systems (ROSI, CLNx, eRez, etc.).
- Strong written and public speaking skills necessary.
- Ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of people at different levels of theUniversity (students, staff and faculty) and with external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a busy office environment with interruptions
- Demonstrated knowledge of customer service and information communication standards of practice in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
