Description:
As a Diagnostic Sonographer II, you will coordinate the daily operations of the service area. This includes organizing and coordinating all technical and daily work activities for your team of Diagnostic Sonographer Is and other health care providers, ensuring that ultrasound services are available and operating at an optimum level. In addition, you will handle patient and staff complaints and problems related to services, maintain quality assurance and quality control programs for the area, assist in research, development, maintenance and evaluation of Sonography programs and services and assist in the development of policies, procedures and guidelines.

**Required Qualifications**:
Completion of extended diploma from an accredited ultrasound program or completion of certification in Diagnostic Sonography from an accredited program. Active or eligible for registration with Sonography Canada and/or Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT and/or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).

**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Graduate of an approved Ultrasound Training Program. Valid membership from Sonography Canada and/or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) is required. Standards of Practice as defined by the regulatory college (ACMDTT). Strong organizational skills. Ability to collaborate and work effectively with technical, medical, and administrative personnel. Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Ability to work independently and cooperatively to promote good teamwork. Ability to work under pressure, in emergency situations and balance and prioritize numerous demands. Sound judgement and concern for detail and accuracy. Compassionate and caring attitude and focused patient and family centered care. Leadership and change management skills. Strong organizational skills. Ability to collaborate and work effectively with technical, medical and administrative personnel. Coaching and mentoring skills to foster an environment of collaboration and effective teamwork. Must be available to work all shifts; days, evenings, nights, weekends, on-call. Previous supervisory/management experience. Connect Care Super User Role training and background.

**Preferred Qualifications**:
Preferred five years current U/S experience. Breast imaging experience an asset. Contrast Ultrasound experience an asset.
