**Responsibilities**:
1. Financial Record Maintenance:

- Continue to maintain accurate and uptodate financial records for the Legion Branch #175.
- Record all financial transactions in the appropriate ledgers and accounting software.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.

2. Accounts Payable and Receivable:

- Expand responsibilities to include processing invoices, ensuring timely payment to vendors, and managing accounts payable.
- Take charge of preparing and issuing invoices for services rendered and monitor accounts receivable.
- Reconcile discrepancies and resolve billing issues.
- As part of the monthly close, provide a reconciliation of accounts payable, including a list of outstanding payables reconciling to the account.
- Similarly, provide a reconciliation of accounts receivable, including a list of outstanding receivables reconciling to the account.

3. Bank Reconciliation:

- Assume responsibility for conducting weekly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between bank statements and accounting records.

4. Financial Reporting:

- Generate comprehensive financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Provide timely and accurate financial information to support decision making processes.
- Prepare monthly close financial statements (yeartodate comparative income statement, cash flow statement, and balance sheet) and send them to the Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair prior to the 15th of each month.

5. Monthly Finance Committee Meeting:

- Attend the Monthly Finance Committee meeting, which takes place on the Saturday at 10:00 am prior to the executive meeting unless otherwise stated.

6. Internal and External Audit Support:

- Play a key role in the preparation for internal and external audits.
- Provide necessary documentation and support during audit processes.

7. Reconciliation of Selected Account(s) for Internal Audit:

- Provide reconciliation of selected account(s) as chosen by the Finance Committee for the purpose of internal audit.

8. Monthly Close Requirements:

- As part of the monthly close, provide a reconciliation of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Include a list of outstanding payables and receivables that reconciles to the respective accounts.
- Submit an inventory listing that has been signed off on by the kitchen.

9. Work Schedule and Compensation:

- Bookkeeper is expected to work a minimum 2 days a week in the office, with the remainder of the time being optional for working from home.

10. Budget Management:

- Collaborate in the preparation and monitoring of the Legion's annual budget.
- Work closely with management to ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines.

11. Payroll Processing:

- Extend responsibilities to include processing payroll in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
- Maintain employee records related to payroll and benefits.

12. AGLC Policies and GAIN Course:

- Keep up to date with AGLC (Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis) policies relevant to our operations.
- Renew the GAIN (Gaming Accountant Internal Controls) course on financial reporting annually (can be done during paid time)

13. General Administrative Support:

- Assist with general administrative tasks as needed.
- Continue to work collaboratively with other team members to achieve organizational goals.

Qualifications:

- Demonstrated experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar financial role within the Legion Branch #175.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Familiarity with relevant legislation and regulations governing financial practices.
- Accounting or Bookkeeping certification from a Canadian Institution (Can be in process)

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $24.20-$31.17 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 20 per week
