We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented part-time bookkeeper to join our company. As a bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in managing our financial transactions and ensuring accurate records. If you have experience in accounting and are familiar with construction industry practices, we’d love to hear from you This position will report and work directly with our Director of Finance.
**Responsibilities**:
- Record financial transactions, including accounts payable, and general ledger entries.
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements.
- Process payroll and related banking transactions, T4s, ROE’s.
- Payroll deduction cheques, and Receiver General.
- Collect, analyze, balance, maintain and investigate account information to help maximize the accuracy of the reported numbers.
- Bank Account, credit card, and fleet card reconciliations.
- Prepare and file customized reporting as necessary.
- Promote a strong culture of teamwork.
**Qualifications and Skills**:
- Associate’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of accounting or full-charge bookkeeping experience, preferably in the construction industry.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with construction accounting concepts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and accounting software (QuickBooks).
- Ability to resolve accounting/reconciliation issues, prioritize tasks, set goals, and delegate.
- Well organized with a strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent decision-making and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects/duties simultaneously.
**Compensation**:
- Hourly rate between $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $24.00-$27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 - 24 per week
