**Accountabilities**:Reporting to the Manager, Commercial Investments, as the Financial Analyst you will support the operations of the Commercial Investments team. This team is responsible for completing objective financial analysis related to the Business Development and Finance functions of Emera Inc. as well as the Emera Board of Directors’ strategy and planning process.

This includes, but is not limited to:

- Valuation work including discounted cash flow modelling, comparable company analysis and precedent transactions analysis. A high level of financial modelling proficiency is necessary and will encompass building operating models and acquisition models including reconciling modelled balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements;
- Conduct extensive quantitative and qualitative economic, industry and company research and analysis;
- Preparing financial models and other materials to support financial reporting and forecasting requirements for Emera Inc.

You will be responsible for your personal safety, that of co-workers, and those under your direction, by observing all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.

**Skills, Capabilities and Experience**:

- Preference will be given to someone having at least two to four (2-4) years of experience in a finance-related position with emphasis on financial modeling and valuation. Experience with utilities will be considered an asset;
- You have strong quantitative skills and possess advanced Excel skills (comfortable creating and analyzing complex financial models, detailed spreadsheets and working with large quantities of data);
- You are a proven team player and have the ability to interact and work with people with a variety of backgrounds at different levels within the organization;
- You possess strong analytical, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, are detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment;
