- As the Leader, Major Mobility Project Development, you will oversee and provide leadership on the business cases, initiation, concept design, functional design, and master planning of capital projects that simultaneously advance several corporate services in one geographic space. Your team's projects will take a user-focused, holistic and multi-disciplinary approach to offering services like streets, sidewalks and pathways, parks and open spaces, recreation opportunities and public transit, often at the same time in the same space. Projects may also be developed as part of themed or geographic programs and will align with Council-approved policies and strategies, including the Calgary Transportation Plan, the Complete Streets Policy, the Goods Movements Strategy, the Neighbourhood Streets Policy, RouteAhead, the Pedestrian Strategy, and the Cycling Strategy. Primary duties include:

- Foster an inclusive leadership approach that creates a respectful workplace and promotes equity, diversity and inclusion, anti-racism, truth and reconciliation, and psychological safety.
- Model The City's Four Cs of corporate culture in addition to a growth mindset, continuous self-directed learning and listening to feedback from interested parties, colleagues and leadership.
- Manage the human and financial resources in your section to achieve results aligned with business goals.
- Provide direction and oversight to your staff about capital investment opportunities and show the connection of projects to Council priorities, corporate policies, long-range network plans, the Corporate Project Management Framework, stage gating, project scoping, engagement and communication, and the opportunities presented by asset management/life cycling.
- Working with colleagues from across the corporation or from other organizations, develop governance models and strategic solutions to address project development challenges.
- Lead organizational change and empower others to take calculated risks to innovate and improve service.
- Participate in business and annual work planning to develop, monitor and manage divisional operating and capital budgets.
- Prepare and present reports to senior leaders and community groups, act as a media spokesperson, and respond to corporate, public, and Council-related inquiries.

**Qualifications**
- You must have a degree and at least 4 years of relevant professional engineering experience obtained after receiving your P. Eng. designation and a current licensure as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) **complete with practicing status** OR licensure **and practicing status** by the first day of work. **Click here for more details**.
- Experience must include work in transportation, along with project management, work plan development, strategic planning, risk management, and capital development.
- Previous leadership experience is essential.
- A working knowledge of the Calgary Transportation Plan (CTP) and Municipal Development Plan (MDP) will be an asset.
- Experience with transportation planning theory, urban planning, land use planning, and working knowledge of PeopleSoft will be considered assets.
