Automation Tester

This is a contractual role for a period of 6 months with the potential for extension or full-time employment. This is a Hybrid position working out of our client site based in Toronto.

**What will you do?**
- Reviewing functional and design specifications to ensure a full understanding of what we build and how to test it.
- Developing, documenting, and maintaining functional test cases and other test artifacts like test data, data validation, and automated scripts.
- Strong testing experience both manually and using automation tools and scripting
- Execute and evaluate manual or automated test cases and report test results/bugs.
- Work closely with developers, test engineers, project manager, client, and other stakeholders throughout the SDLC, executing automated test iterations, tracking & reporting test results, and troubleshooting and coordinating the bug fixes.
- Experience in using test case development tools, linking test cases to requirements, defect management, and metrics reporting. (Example: Jira or HP ALM)
- Experience or knowledge of SQL, SVN / Git, MySql, etc.
- Programming languages experience (i.e. Java, JavaScript)

**What do you need to succeed?**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited institution with 4+ years of relevant experience as a QA Analyst.
- Relevant work experience in development and/or testing roles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to coordinate efficiently with clients.
- Good development/scripting skills in common languages such as Java, and JavaScript with Node.js, PHP, Python, Ruby, C#, or Perl.
- Expertise in practical knowledge of automated testing tools using **selenium**.
- Should be self-motivated, creative, and proactive, to work successfully in a fast-paced environment.
- Should have a strong understanding of agile processes and the related QA lifecycle and automation methodology
- Knowledge & Experience of JIRA.
