Lethbridge & District Exhibition Park is looking for an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Manager of Finance, this position will provide administrative and data entry support to ensure smooth financial operations across various areas.
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide clerical and accounting support to the department.
- Accurately prepare and maintain accounting documents and records.
- Process bank deposits, general ledger postings, and financial statements.
- Reconcile accounts promptly and efficiently.
- Enter financial transaction data into the database daily.
- Record transactions for billing, purchasing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Post payments and manage client billing on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Prepare invoices for payment.
- Maintain financial records for the Clerk’s Office.
- Resolve inquiries related to billing and invoicing.
- Update and maintain vendor financial information and files.
- Assist with posting journal entries into accounting software.
- Prepare various forms, correspondence, and inter-departmental memos.
- Support the preparation and maintenance of department budgets and special projects.
- Log purchase orders and organize cheque runs.
- Generate client invoices and maintain organized files.
- Provide general support to company personnel as needed.
- Perform additional duties as required.
**Qualifications**:
- Strong aptitude for numbers and financial data.
- Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting principles.
- Experience with general ledger, billing, collections, and spreadsheets.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel) and financial software.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong teamwork skills to maintain departmental continuity.
- Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
