Clerk, Tax

**Position Summary**

Under the general supervision of the Manager, Finance & Administration, the Clerk, Tax & Utilities is responsible for tasks within the corporate services department as well as assisting other departments with their administrative needs. The Clerk, Tax & Utilities must provide exceptional customer service while engaging with stakeholders and residents.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Property tax and utilities administrative duties and functions.
- Ability to meet deadlines under pressure and interruptions.
- Electronic and physical filing.
- Print and process cheques.
- Provide general and administrative support to Corporate Services and other departments.
- Exceptional customer service skills and provide support to administrative staff.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external contacts.
- Interacts with ratepayers and provides answers for tax and assessment questions.
- Supports front counter with customer inquiries, payments, etc.
- Performs other related duties as required.

**Education/Training/Skills Required**
- Business or Administration Diploma or equivalent related experience.
- Experience working in relation to taxes or utilities is an asset.
- Accounting experience is considered an asset.
- Excellent computer skills. Diamond Great Plains software experience is an asset.
- Customer Service experience required.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills, organization skills, and the ability to handle difficult/sensitive situations in a professional manner.

**Working Conditions**
- This position will work out of the Lethbridge County Administration Building.
- Hours of work are 8:30am to 4:30pm, with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.
- Overtime as required.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
