**The Role**

Do you enjoy creating and supporting a workplace in which people are encouraged to do great work? Alopex Couriers invites you to join our Human Resources team as a Human Resources Advisor. This role will be a key contributor to Alopex Courier’s UKG implementation and will provide operational and general Human Resources support to all Alopex Couriers employees.

**Responsibilities**:
Under the general guidance of the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Advisor is accountable for the following:

- Support employee relations, communications, ongoing talent assessment and staffing, organizational analysis, and change management.
- Contribute to an inter-departmental HRIS implementation project.
- Maintain sufficient knowledge of Employment Standards, WSBC Regulations and other legal requirements related to management of employees and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Work with management and employees to improve engagement, morale, and retention.
- Coach supervisors and employees on strategies for resolving workplace performance or interpersonal issues and make recommendations on appropriate courses of action.
- Prepare a variety of confidential documentation including performance letters, disciplinary letters, and other non-standard correspondence.
- Represent the department on committees as assigned.
- Perform other related duties as requested.

**To Be Successful in this Role You Will Need**
- Experience in identifying needs and collaborating on a variety of initiatives that support strategic directions.
- Experience providing sound professional advice for all aspects of human resources.
- Respectful and collaborative interactions with others.
- Effective planning and organizational skills including the ability to prioritize, multi-task and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to model professional, ethical and collaborative behaviours, including dealing effectively with conflicting expectations and resistance.
- Maintain sensitive and confidential information.

**Required**:

- Two-year Diploma in Human Resources or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or other related field.
- HR generalist experience (2 or more years), preferably in a logistics environment.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation covering employment and industrial relations.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Strong proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Human Resources Information Systems.
- Experienced in problem solving, conflict management, and negotiation skills, including the ability to successfully resolve performance and disciplinary issues.
- Strong critical thinking skills: including the ability to ask relevant questions, analyze the information provided, and make reasonable conclusions.
- A CPHR designation is preferred.
