**The Role - Industrial Mechanic**

works on industrial machinery, mechanical equipment and components, including mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, fuel, lubrication, cooling and exhaust systems, and pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, presses, generators and pneumatic and hydraulic controls. Specifically, an Industrial Mechanic Millwright

**Responsibilities**:

- Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces and generators according to layout plans using hand and power tools
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks and forklifts to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery
- Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions
- Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts
- Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery
- Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
- Detect defects and excessive wear in machinery and identify slight differences in dimensions and shapes of component parts
- Repair and overhaul electrical and mechanical systems on jar filling machinery and replace and align moving parts as required
- Confer with management to recommend equipment changes and modifications and in evaluating new equipment.

**Qualifications**:

- Valid 433A License
- Fill Line/Packaging Line experience
- Millwright, Industrial Maintenance Mechanic or related post-secondary education
- Forklift, scissor lift, welding and other related certification an asset
- Sound trouble shooting and root cause analysis skills
- Strong computer skills with ability to manage full cycle processing of work orders.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
- Ability to analyze a situation and formulate a methodical approach to effectively correct and when appropriate, escalate the problem in order to prevent/reduce line downtime
- The employee must regularly lift and or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds
- Prior work experience in a similar role is required and previous experience in the coatings industry will be considered an asset

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
