Kal-Polymers is a plastics compounding company providing clean post-industrial recycled/upcycled material to many industries. KP is looking to hire a Maintenance Manager who will support the plant manager and be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Maintenance department. The individual will manage a team of several maintenance technicians focused on performing corrective, predictive, and preventive maintenance procedures to material handling equipment, conveyor and control systems, and associated scanning equipment.

**Job Duties & Responsibilities**

Kal-Polymers Inc. is looking for a maintenance technician apprentice to help with the day-to-day maintenance of the facility, including the cleanliness of the shop, repairs, and upkeep of the premises and the equipment.

Shift Hours: Must be flexible to any of the following shifts: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, 4:00 pm
- 12:00 am, and 12:00 am - 8:00 am.
- Promptly answer calls for jams, malfunctions, or other maintenance-related issues
- Detect equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine, controls, or control media within capabilities as required to ensure the quality of production
- Ensure proper use of required personal protective equipment at all times
- Follow manufacturing and processing procedures, set machine or equipment controls, carry out production and inspection processes
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on all equipment and tools
- Regular maintenance and repair on all of all granulators, extruders, balers, blenders, box dumpers, conveyor belts, and forklifts
- Working knowledge to solve Electrical, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Mechanical, Plumbing and HVAC
- ERP utilization includes logging in and out of jobs as well as keeping track of maintenance inventory.
- Performs other duties as requested

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or relevant field
- Recent graduates are welcome to apply
- Mechanical/Technical Abilities
- have worked with various tools
- Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and carpentry repairs.
- With EREMA or similar machinery experience.
- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Ability to perform strenuous physical labour
- Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
- Must be located near Mississauga, Ontario
