**About the role**

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a **Regular Full-Time Manager, Performance and Monitoring** to join our dynamic **Strategic Facilities Management and Business Integration** team. The work of a Manager, Performance and Monitoring is integral to Canadian Blood Services’ role as Canada’s Lifeline.

In this role, you will be responsible for a national team that manages national continuous monitoring systems and supports the objectives of the Strategic Facilities Management and Business Integration Department.

You will be responsible for developing and implementing Canadian Blood Services Facilities standards for automated control systems, security/alarming systems, and continuous monitoring systems. You will also be responsible for managing the development, maintenance, and operation of national, network based continuous monitoring systems.

You will review and evaluate unit and departmental performance against established objectives and make recommendations for improvements or changes, as needed.

You will be responsible for managing and coordinating all relevant vendor contacts and ensuring fulfilment of contractual obligations. You may be responsible for the planning, management, development and implementation of a specific Canadian Blood Services project or components of a project eg, controls and system. You will work closely with the functional business groups and the Project Team to achieve project objectives in accordance with established cost and time parameters.

**Key responsibilities include**:
**Manage activities related to the planning, monitoring and control of departmental operations**:

- Establish short and long-term departmental objectives, in accordance with objectives established by the Director, Strategic Facilities Management and Business Integration.
- Manages national continuous monitoring systems and other automated control systems. Ensures systems are maintained to meet operational and regulatory requirements.
- Monitors activities and related costs to ensure costs kept within budget while achieving departmental goals and objectives.

**Manage the activities and integration of the department**:

- Hire, discipline, direct, monitor, and appraise the performance of all direct reports, identify training needs, and initiate staff development.
- Develops and motivates the team to meet performance objectives and establishes strong and effective working relationships through coaching and successful teamwork.
- Promotes and maintains a high degree of employee engagement & satisfaction.

**Manages project activities and responsibilities as assigned**:

- Develops and maintains project documents and coordinates interface with electronic project systems

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary level education, preferably a university degree in a related field.
- A minimum of 4 years of related experience, with 3 years of previous project management experience and/or training preferred.
- General management and/or previous project experience.
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

**Demonstrated Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:

- Knowledge of CBS business processes, regulations, and quality environment.
- Experienced in the design, operations and maintenance of facilities controls and monitoring systems.
- Ability to analyze complex problems, interpret business needs, and develop integrated, creative solutions.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively in a team environment.
- Advanced verbal and written communications skills in English.
- Knowledge of Information Systems planning and life cycle management.
- Knowledge of risk management concepts.
- Ability to deal with senior management and external stakeholders.
