- Reporting to the Dean/Associate Dean, the incumbent develops and delivers the Environmental Management Systems and Audit course in the Environmental Technician/ Technology Diploma program. Courses may be scheduled and delivered during the day or evening at Barrie Campus. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

- Delivers the ENVR 2014 - Environmental Management Systems and Audit course in the Environmental Technician/ Technology Diploma program
- Students examine the current practices and policies pertaining to the development, implementation and maintenance of environmental management systems (EMS) in an organization. Using ISO standards, students analyze case studies and highlight the key factors involved with EMS implementation. The process of assessing environmental impacts and implementing continuous improvement measures are addressed. Comparable health and safety management systems are examined to reinforce management system concepts. Introductory entrepreneurial concepts and skills are integrated into learning activities.
- Develops and delivers appropriate curriculum to meet course objectives
- Incorporates a variety of teaching / learning strategies to meet student needs
- Evaluates student progress / achievement
- Participates in program and college activities as required
- Creates and maintains a positive learning environment

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- 3-year diploma or Bachelors degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, or a related field
- A minimum of five years’ experience in environmental auditing, environmental health and safety, and/or compliance reporting (e.g. engineering or consulting firms, compliance position in industrial processes or manufacturing)
- Relevant experience with ISO standards
- Relevant experience with Occupational Heath and Safety and managing hazardous materials
- Completion of the ISO standards training/certification courses
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to life-long learning
- Proven ability to work in a team environment and to foster the same in students
- Experience in some or all of the following is an asset: curriculum development, a variety of delivery strategies, learning methodologies, academic advising and student success strategies
- Teaching and Training Adults certification and / or experience in a teaching or training capacity is an asset
