It is an exciting time for LSDC as we have recently completed a four (4) year strategic plan and annual business plan. In 2024, LSDC will present a dance production and its 2nd Bi-annual dance festival in Toronto, Canada celebrating works by black female choreographers. Company activities are available in English and French.

**Position**: Part Time Independent Contract

**Part-time hours**: 5-10 hours per week (*flexible hours)

**Salary**: $25 per hour

**Start Date**: ASAP

**Term**: 1 year term contract with possibility of extension

**Job Summary**

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a vibrant and expanding artistic team. Reporting to the Artistic Director and working with the entire LSDC team, will help plan and implement a marketing content calendar to promote all the LSDC programs and activities while supporting the organizational brand. This includes implementing the organizational marketing plan and managing the content creation for the company’s marketing assets. Ideally, content will be available in English and French.

The Marketing Coordinator (MC) is responsible for promoting and raising awareness for all LSDC’s programs, with a focus on the January dance production and the YENSA Festival (August 2024). The MC will work with the AD to support and implement the organization’s brand in all public facing communications and will lead the implementation of digital content on social media and LSDC’s two websites.

This is primarily a Work From Home - remote position and will involve collaboration with the entire team, including the Artistic Director at scheduled times both virtually and in-person. There will be many in-person activities throughout the year to support and create content for. Flexible schedule to work evenings and weekends from time to time is required.

**Qualifications**:

- A diploma or degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field is desired.
- Strong experience in marketing, communications, fundraising or a related field
- Experience in the promotion of live events (ideally in the performing arts).
- Excellent knowledge of social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Tik Tok
- Competency in French is a definite asset
- Have a demonstrated interest in the arts/arts administration and/or nonprofit management.

**Desired Skills**:

- Strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage projects from inception to completion.
- Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
- Proficient in social media management and blog management (formatting/crafting, writing) experience
- Strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
- Some experience with audio/video production
- Extreme attention to detail.
- Some graphic design experience.
- Ability to work independently in a self-directed environment, and as part of a team.
- Experience updating website content.
- Ability to work remotely (we are a “bring your own device” agency)
- Excellent time-management skills

**Tasks & Responsibilities**

**COMMUNICATIONS (50%)**
- Implement LSDC’s communication strategy and improve brand consistency across all platforms including the website content, the social media channels, the monthly e-newsletter, and surveys.
- Establish and administer the Social Media Content Calendar in conjunction with the company’s planned activities that engages a broad audience.
- Develop engaging copy, captivating graphics, and multimedia content for LSDC’s social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube.
- Respond to incoming questions/requests from audience or forward questions to appropriate LSDC team members as necessary.
- Direct the branding for visual assets for digital publishing, social media, partner packages, etc. in a timely manner.
- Build, update, and maintain a database of stakeholders including members, artists, media, government, funding bodies, donors, and community partners.
- Coordinate data tracking to support post-festival reporting across all platforms.
