**Your Opportunity**:
We love new ideas. Reporting to the Director of Neighbourhood Services, the Manager, Programs & Events leads the visioning, design, and implementation of programming for the library branches. The Manager, Programs & Events leads a team of staff across the systems and will oversee and develop a multi-year vision and plan for programming that supports literacy and curiosity, multicultural and cultural programming, and programming for older adults.

You will be a member of the Management Team and will help launch new initiatives for our strategic plan, integrating DEI principles into our service delivery and design, and championing our employees.

**Working Conditions**:
Salary Range: $79,421 to $96,537 (2023 Rate, Band 5)

Status: Non-Affiliated, Regular Full-Time

Schedule: Thirty-five (35) hours per week, evenings and weekends

Work Location: System-wide

**Essential Qualifications**:

- Master of Library and Information Science Degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience to the satisfaction of the Library, Museums & Archives Chief Executive Officer.
- Three (3) years of supervisory experience, preferably in a service-based organization, with an emphasis on program development.
- Excellent knowledge in program development and community-led library best practices.
- An innovator with experience identifying and capitalizing on opportunities for new sustainable connections.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills. Able to manage shifting priorities in a busy environment with frequent interruptions and a proven ability to work to deadlines and set priorities.
- Excellent English language oral, written, and presentation skills including the ability to teach and present to community groups, partners, boards, and town council. Other language skills are an asset.
- Strong planning, strategy, and marketing skills.
- Strong relationship building, partnership and management skills.
- Good process improvement skills and time efficient.
- Comfort with risk, failure, and ambiguity as well as the skills to mitigate risk but move forward in a planned manner.
- Ability to supervise staff, assess development and training needs and develop plans to improve on a team and individual basis, as well as to evaluate staff and team performance.
- Working knowledge of the Employment Standards Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, Accessibility for Ontarians Disability Act and the Occupation Health and Safety Act.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Valid First Aid Certification considered an asset.
- A satisfactory Standard Criminal Record Check (CPIC) is required prior to commencement of employment.
